Punjab Congress Chief and Ludhiana MP- Amrinder Singh Raja Warring and his family have received death threat. Apart from Amrinder Singh Raja Warring & family, another Congress leader Rajbir Bhullar has been threatened.
As per reports, an FIR has been registered in Tarn Taran against Pakistan-based gangster and terrorist Harvinder Rinda and two others. Raja Warring had recently raised questions during the election campaign about gangsters intimidating him during the election. This threat is being linked to Warring's statement.
However, the police have not yet made any official statement on the matter.
Senior Congress leader Rajbir Singh Bhullar has complained to the police that he received a WhatsApp call from a foreign number on October 31st. In the call, he and Punjab Congress President Amrinder Singh Raja Warring were threatened.
A voice message was sent stating that they would eliminate Warring and his family.
Bhullar further explained that later that day, a voice message was received stating that Raja Warring and his family must be eliminated, and that Rajbir Bhullar would not be spared either.
During the campaign for Tarn Taran Byelection, Raja Warring had said, "It's becoming clear that gangsters from outside are calling and extorting money from people. They've given one lakh rupees to some, and two lakh rupees to others. This is how things are going. Will gangsters get things done over the phone?"
