It is pertinent to mention here that the heinous crime Samrala has come to the fore at a time when people of Punjab are furious over the crime that took place on November 22 in Jalandhar West.

For the unversed, a 13-year-old girl was raped and murdered by her friend's father in the neighborhood. The victim had gone to the neighbour's house to play with the accused Harminder Singh aka Rimpy's daughter. However, Rimpy's daughter was not at home that time.

Still, Rimpy reportedly invited the 13-year-old minor inside the house saying that his daughter is inside. Thereafter, he carried out the heinous crime. Currently, Rimpy is in police custody. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has vowed to run the trial of the case in a fast track court and push for death penalty so that the victim's family get timely justice.
