In a shocking development, a man was brutally killed when he objected to the continuous harassment and eve teasing that her daughter was facing in Punjab's Fazilka.
According to reports, the murder took place outside the accused's house in Bhangala Village. The man was surrounded by the accused and his family (neighbours) and attacked with a sickle on his neck and head, killing him on the spot.
The incident took place outside the accused’s house, where the victim was attacked with a kassi (sharp-edged tool) and killed on the spot. Police have registered a murder case based on the statement of the victim’s wife.
The deceased victim who has been identified as Balkaar Singh had gone to a relative's house for a wedding ceremony in the village on Sunday. The man who had harassed his daughter began threatening him. Hence, Balkaar Singh left the wedding and returned home.
Balkaar Singh's wife Charanjit Kaur stated that her husband then went to the house of Manjinder Singh alias Mani. Manjinder Singh alias Mani, his brother Tarsem Singh, father Chand Singh, and mother Harpreet Kaur, allegedly attacked Balkaar Singh. They repeatedly struck him in the neck and head with a sickle.
As per reports, the deceased victim's daughter has informed the police that she was being harassed for quite some time. After completing her Class 12th, she was staying at her home.
The accused was allegedly taking advantage of her being a neighbor and making lewd comments.
As per reports, the accused is currently absconding with his family and police officials are conducting raids to nab the culprit.
