Mariton Hotel row: FIR registered against Yashpal Dua and others under Section 295A of IPC

Jalandhar’s Mariton Hotel is yet again in the center of a controversy. Recently, a CCTV footage of a heated altercation between the partners of the Mariton Hotel surfaced online. Reportedly an argument took place among the partners which later intensified into a physical altercation. After the CCTV footage of the altercation went viral on social media, hotel’s MD Dr. Paramjit Singh Marwaha held a press conference to put forth his stance, where he mentioned that he would approach the authorities and get the matter probed.

Now, as per latest updates, a FIR has been registered against Yashpal Dua, Gulshan Dua, Umesh Dua, Shivi Dua and some others in the case at Rama Mandi police station, Jalandhar. The case has been booked under the Section 295A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which lays down the punishment for the deliberate and malicious acts, that are intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs.

ACP Jalandhar Central Ajay Singh has given the confirmation regarding the registration of the FIR and has said that the case would be heard from the parties and appropriate action would be taken.
