The launch of Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna has now been rescheduled. Initially, the Chief Minister’s health insurance scheme was scheduled to be launched by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal on January 15. But now this launch date has been pushed forward to January 22.
The week-long delay in the launch of the scheme is due to officiating Jathedar of Akal Takht Giani Kuldip Singh Gargaj Sahib summoning the Chief Minister on January 15. The announcement was made by the Punjab Health Minister Dr Balbir Singh in Fatehgarh Sahib where he had visited to review the ongoing preparations for the scheme.
The Health Minister adds that the government has allocated a budget of Rs 1200 crore for this project and aims to reach all the 3 crore Punjabis. The minister says that the motive of the government behind launching this scheme was simple, they wanted that this universal health insurance reach every home and family of the state.
The only documents required for the scheme are Aadhar Card and Voter ID card both from Punjab. In case of minor, a dependent card would also be required.
