Nagar Kirtan in Jalandhar: Sangat members shower flowers on route, guard of honour given

Sangat members were seen showering flowers on the routes from where the holy Nagar Kirtan was passing through in Jalandhar.

The grand Nagar Kirtan finally arrived in Jalandhar on Saturday. Nagar Kirtan that started from Gurdaspur entered Jalandhar. Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal formally welcomed the procession as it reached the city. A large number of devotees gathered to pay their respects.

Sangat members were seen showering flowers on the routes from where the holy Nagar Kirtan was passing through. Not only this, but a Guard of Honour was also given to holy Nagar Kirtan at Guru Nanak Mission Chowk.

DC Himanshu Aggarwal addressed the media and said, "Today with full respect we are celebrating 350th martyrdom of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The holy Nagar Kirtan has finally reached Jalandhar via Gurdaspur, Amritsar, and Tarn Taran, and Kapurthala.

The Nagar Kirtan, which started from Kapurthala via Kartarpur, entered Jalandhar around 1 am.

Jalandhar Traffic Police has diverted 11 routes for the Nagar Kirtan. Additionally, the administration has declared a half-day holiday for schools and colleges. The Nagar Kirtan, which started from Gurdaspur, will rest at Sri Anandpur Sahib.

The Nagar Kirtan, which started from Gurdaspur, will travel from Jalandhar via Phagwara, Banga, Nawanshahr, and Balachaur to reach Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 22. The Punjab government will hold a special session of the Punjab Legislative Assembly outside Chandigarh for the first time on November 24th at Sri Anandpur Sahib. The government has urged devotees to participate in the Guru Sahib's martyrdom commemorations being celebrated at Sri Anandpur Sahib from November 23rd to 25th, 2025.
