Amid continuous heavy rainfall, eight factory workers trapped in Lohara village were safely rescued by a team of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) under the close supervision of the Jalandhar district administration.
Upon receiving information about the trapped workers, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal immediately called one of the two NDRF teams stationed at Shahkot. The team conducted a swift rescue operation, ensuring all workers were brought out safely.
Reviewing the rescue and relief efforts, Dr. Aggarwal stated that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully committed to protecting lives and property during flood-like situations. He added that due to heavy rainfall over the past two days, drainage systems are overflowing, prompting the deployment of two NDRF teams last night in Shahkot.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, along with SDM Randeep Singh Heer, assured the public that the administration is providing all possible assistance during this challenging time
