Aam Aadmi Party leader Neel Garg on Sunday slammed the Union Budget 2026 for making no announcements for Punjab. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1 tabled Union Budget in the parliament. However, Punjab was not even mentioned during that.
Neel Garg said. "There were many big announcements, but when it comes to Punjab, there is nothing of real substance. Not a single announcement in this budget can be said to genuinely benefit the state.
Farmers were expecting relief for the heavy losses they suffered during last year’s floods, but no such support was announced. They were also hoping for a legal guarantee on MSP, which once again did not materialise. The common people of Punjab have gained nothing from this budget, and Punjab’s industries have also been left without any special incentives or support."
