Punjab’s maximum temperature has seen a slight increase, while the minimum temperature has dropped. Today, which is Tuesday, 14th October it began with a clear sky, meaning sunshine will continue throughout the day. According to the Meteorological Department, the next 15 days will bring slightly warm afternoons, but mornings, evenings, and nights will remain cold.
The Meteorological Centre has predicted that in most Punjab districts, the daytime temperature will hover between 30°C and 32°C for the next 15 days. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature at night is expected to remain between 15°C and 19°C. In border districts like Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Pathankot, the maximum temperature is likely to stay below normal.
Amritsar recorded a maximum temperature of 31°C, which is 1.3°C below normal. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Bathinda at 33.8°C. Ludhiana reported 32°C, Patiala 33°C, Gurdaspur 30.8°C, Ferozepur 32.9°C, Hoshiarpur 29.9°C, and Mohali 32°C.
Punjab to Witness a Prolonged Winter
Meteorologists have predicted that Punjab will experience an extended winter this year. The upper regions of Himachal Pradesh have already witnessed early snowfall, with white sheets covering the mountains.
In the coming days, several western disturbances will remain active, bringing more snow to Himachal Pradesh the effects of which will be felt in Punjab. The state is likely to see colder-than-normal conditions and more foggy days than usual.
