November weather alert; What Punjab can expect as temperatures drop

Jalandhar, and Chandigarh, will experience a significant drop in temperatures in the coming weeks.

As the gone-astride October's remaining warmth passes, Punjab is set to experience a crisp change in climatic conditions with November. The state will usher in a cooler and comfortable period as initial winter is set to descend upon key cities.

As per local weather forecasts, the majority of Punjab such as Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, and Chandigarh will experience a significant temperature decrease in the days to come. Day temperatures of about 29°C to 31°C during the last week of October will reduce to almost 25°C by the last week of November. Nights will turn chilly with night temperatures of 14°C to 16°C, and in northern areas such as Amritsar and Pathankot, even the night temperatures can be lower during the second half of the month.

Rain action will still be limited in November, and only sparse light scattered showers may be present in the middle of the month. Clear blue skies and extended sunshine durations will prevail on most days, leading to ideal weather for outdoor activities and early winter holidays.

But shallow smog and fog formation may occur on mornings early in the second half of the month, particularly due to stubble burning in northern and central Punjab. Air quality would get progressively better in the latter half of mid-November as the wind increases and dispersion becomes better within the plains.

From mid-November to late November, Punjab will witness cold mornings, balanced afternoons, and breezy nights that will set up the ground for festive mood to Guru Nanak Gurpurab celebrations. With a pleasant climate, improved visibility, and lesser possibilities of rains, November 2025 is proving to be a snug and lively season for individuals to soak outside and season change.
