In Jalandhar’s Boota Pind area, miscreants allegedly attacked a house late at night over an old rivalry and reportedly fired gunshots. After receiving information, police reached the spot and recovered two empty shell casings. Police have started investigating the matter.
Series of events
Rekha, a resident of Boota Pind, said she was sleeping at home with her children late at night when some miscreants from the nearby area, allegedly due to an old rivalry, arrived outside her house on motorcycles at high speed. After getting off their bikes, they allegedly began abusing the family.
Damage during the incident
Rekha said the attackers first allegedly damaged a window of the house with sharp-edged weapons and then started attacking the main door. Fearing for her children’s safety, she took them to the rooftop. During the attack, the windows of two cars parked in the street were also damaged.
Rounds fired at the house
She alleged that while abusing the family, the attackers fired three rounds before fleeing the spot. She said a complaint was lodged with the police, following which officers recovered two empty shell casings from the scene.
Police investigation
SHO Rajwant Kaur of Police Station Division No. 6 said the police team reached the spot after receiving information. Two empty shell casings were recovered from the location. She said the police are investigating the matter and the accused will be arrested soon.
