A shocking incident of alleged hooliganism has come to light from Jalandhar, where a petrol pump employee was allegedly assaulted by three motorcycle-borne youths following a dispute over a payment of just ₹30. The incident occurred at a petrol station near TV Tower and was captured on the CCTV cameras of the petrol pump.
According to eyewitnesses and the victim, the three youths arrived at the petrol pump on a motorcycle and asked for petrol worth ₹30. After the fuel was dispensed, they told the worker that they would pay the money tomorrow. Reacting to this, the worker softly asked the customer for payment and said that it was against the rules. Gradually argument over the topic broke into a physical fight.CCTV footage from the petrol station reportedly shows the youths engaging in a verbal altercation with the employee. As the argument intensified, the accused allegedly turned aggressive and physically assaulted the worker. In one of the CCTV clips, one of the youths can reportedly be seen carrying a stick and attempting to attack the employee.
The fight caused panic and commotion at the petrol station. Other staff members rushed to the spot and intervened to prevent the situation from worsening. Their timely intervention helped bring the assault under control, although the accused continued creating a disturbance and ultimately flew from the police station without paying.
Speaking about the incident, the victim, identified as Manish, said that he works at Bharat Petroleum's outlet located near Khurla Kingra on the Gurnam Gas Line route. He stated that the youths had clearly received the fuel and then tried to leave without paying. When he asked for the money, they allegedly told him they would pay the next day. Upon objecting, he was allegedly attacked and assaulted.Manish further alleged that the youths used sticks during the attack and created a ruckus at the petrol station before escaping without paying for the fuel. The incident left employees and customers shocked, especially considering that the dispute reportedly began over a mere ₹30 fuel payment
The victim said he would inform the petrol pump owner about the incident and lodge a formal complaint with the police. Authorities are expected to examine the CCTV footage to identify the accused and initiate appropriate legal action. An investigation is likely to be launched once a formal complaint is submitted.
