A tragic road accident on Thursday morning, July 30, 2026, on the Phillaur–Tehing Road claimed the life of a 21-year-old youth and left his 23-year-old sister seriously injured. The brother-sister duo was travelling on a motorcycle when a truck collided with them, resulting in a devastating accident.
The deceased has been identified as Arjan Saini, while his sister Priya sustained critical injuries in the crash. The incident has left the family in deep shock, especially as Arjan was reportedly set to get married in just two months.
Brother Was Taking Sister to Work When Accident Happened
According to information shared by BSP Phillaur constituency in-charge Khushi Ram and Arjan’s father Shankar, Arjan used to drop his sister at her workplace at a private factory every day. On Thursday morning, he was travelling with Priya on his motorcycle towards her workplace when the accident occurred.
The family alleged that their motorcycle collided with an allegedly overloaded and uncontrolled truck that was coming from the Phillaur side towards Tehing. The impact of the collision was extremely severe, leaving both siblings trapped under the vehicle.
Truck Overturns Into Fields, Driver Flees Spot
The collision was so powerful that the truck overturned and fell into nearby fields along with the motorcycle. The motorcycle became stuck underneath the truck, making the rescue operation difficult.
Soon after the accident, the truck driver reportedly fled from the spot. Local residents who reached the area immediately informed authorities and helped in the rescue operation.
Locals Rescue Victims, Arjan Declared Dead
With the help of local people and officials, both siblings were pulled out and rushed to the Civil Hospital Phillaur for medical treatment.
However, doctors declared Arjan Saini dead. His sister Priya, who suffered serious injuries, was provided initial treatment before being referred to a private hospital in Jalandhar due to her critical condition.

The family revealed that Arjan was working in construction work in Tehing village and was the sole support for many responsibilities at home. His sudden death has left the family shattered.
