However, when the doctor strongly resisted, the attackers shot him in his leg and fled the spot. Dr. Rahul Sood is a resident of Jalandhar Heights.
Ever since then, multiple reports and theories have surfaced. While some outline that it was an attempted kidnapping that did not become successful, a few other reports suggest that it was a failed attempt of carjacking.
Now, Dr. Rahul Sood has finally broken his silence while talking to the media. Rahul Sood narrated the incident and expressed that he believes that the men may have attacked him with a motive to kidnap him but he is not sure about this. Below is what the Doctor said-
Dr. Rahul Sood said-
"I don't know anything why I was targeted. After completing my work from hospital around 7:30 to 7: 45 pm, I was going to my home. I had to buy some goods for house, hence, I stopped at Urban Estate Phase 2 market. After I came out of the market, a few men grabbed me. They were forcing me to sit inside my car with them. I retaliated against them and said 'I will not'. They said 'we will shoot you'. I asked why will you shoot me, you can take whatever you want. But, they kept on pushing me to sit inside the car. WHen I pushed back they fired at my foot."
On being asked who were the men, the doctor said he don't know.
On being asked whether the men were trying to kidnap him, the doctor said, "It might be possible as they were forcing me to sit in the backseat of the car. I told them that they can take whatever they wat. But they were adamant to make me sit at the backseat of the car. Then they started firing. One bullet hit me and two other bullets were fired in the air. They fled the scene. I screamed for help,, then a few people came to help me. I was taken to hospital in my own car."
"I don't have any animosity with anyone. I haven't received any extortion call ever. The Police have assured me that they are tracing the attackers and soon they will be caught."
