The Punjab Pollution Control Board (PPCB) on Thursday conducted a raid at the Trident Group’s industrial unit located in Dhaula village of Barnala district. The facility is linked to Rajya Sabha MP Rajinder Gupta, who is the founder of Trident Group.
According to sources, a team of PPCB officials arrived at the premises in approximately five vehicles during the afternoon and initiated inspection proceedings. The raid was still underway at the time of filing this report.
The development has drawn significant attention, particularly as it comes days after Rajinder Gupta switched political allegiance from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on April 24, along with six other Members of Parliament.
As of now, no official statement has been issued by the authorities regarding the purpose or findings of the raid. Officials present at the site refrained from speaking to the media.
