Actress Preity Zinta turned a regular IPL match into a special event by inviting real-life heroes to watch her team Punjab Kings play as she shared a video on X where she was seen meeting and taking photos with these guests at the stadium.
Preity said the match was not just about cricket but also about honouring people who are doing good work for society and mentioned that she found these individuals on social media and was deeply moved by their kindness, bravery and efforts to help others.
She invited several people from different parts of India who have helped others in meaningful ways: Hargun Singh (6), Barnala who had donated his entire savings for Punjab flood relief, Shvan Singh (10), Ferozpur who helped Indian Army personnel by serving cold drinks during Operation Sindhoor; also received the Bal Puraskar, Surender Singh Chauhan and team (MP) who clean rivers by hand and promote cleanliness, Jasmit Singh Arora and his wife (Kolkata) who distribute mango seeds to farmers to support tree planting and agriculture, Sahaj Duggal (Yamunanagar) who feeds needy people on the streets and encourages others to help & Sarabjeet Singh Bobby and his wife (Shimla) who organise free langars in hospitals, help cremate unclaimed bodies and have raised over ₹1 crore for flood relief in Himachal.
Preity called them “real-life heroes” and said it was her honour to host them at the stadium and she also invited them to sit with her and enjoy the match as a way to thank them for their service to society. She also thanked the team’s supporters for making the match memorable for everyone.
