Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann to Launch Election Campaign in Jalandhar Central on May 6: Nitin Kohli

Campaign to begin at 4 PM, focusing on development, good governance, and pro-people policies as government presents 4-year track record

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann will formally launch his election campaign from the Jalandhar Central Assembly constituency on May 6. In this regard, Jalandhar Central Halka Incharge Nitin Kohli informed that the campaign will begin at 4 PM on the same day.

Nitin Kohli stated that this campaign will serve as an important platform to directly connect the government’s achievements, development initiatives, and pro-people policies with the public. He added that extensive preparations are underway across various areas of Jalandhar Central to ensure maximum public outreach and participation.

With the upcoming Assembly elections in view, this campaign holds significant importance as Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will present a report card of his government’s four-year tenure before the people. Key focus areas during the campaign will include development, transparency, education, healthcare, employment, and law and order.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government has taken several major decisions over the past four years. In the education sector, government schools have been modernized, new teachers have been recruited, and infrastructure has been strengthened. In healthcare, the expansion of Aam Aadmi Clinics has ensured free and quality treatment for citizens.

The government has taken a strict stand against corruption, making the administrative system more transparent and accountable. Thousands of jobs have been provided to youth through transparent recruitment processes, while timely procurement and payments have been ensured for farmers.

Additionally, technology-driven measures have been introduced to strengthen law and order, and new industrial policies have been implemented to boost investment and generate employment opportunities across the state.

Nitin Kohli said that over the past year, a strong environment of public engagement and outreach has been created in Jalandhar Central. He expressed confidence that the Chief Minister’s campaign will further accelerate development work in the region and strengthen public trust.

Nitin Kohli further highlighted key welfare initiatives of the Punjab Government, stating that under Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojana, eligible women across the state will receive monthly financial assistance ranging from ₹1000 to ₹1500 directly in their bank accounts, with registrations already underway in selected constituencies and set to expand statewide from May 15. He also emphasized the government’s landmark healthcare initiative launched under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann and Arvind Kejriwal, which aims to provide free and cashless health insurance coverage of up to ₹10 lakh to nearly 3 crore residents of Punjab, marking a transformative step toward accessible and affordable healthcare for all.

He also appealed to the people of the constituency to participate in the campaign on May 6 at 4 PM and engage with the government’s policies and achievements.
