The India Meteorological Department (IMD) of Chandigarh unit on September 2 put multiple districts of Punjab on red alert again. IMD Chandigarh shared its Punjab Rainfall Prediction on its X handle and put Jalandhar, Ludhiana and other districts of Punjab on red alert for 'very heavy rainfall' on September 2. September 2- Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Rupnagar and Fatehgarh Sahib are on red alert today for very heavy rainfall
The remaining districts are on orange alert on September 2.
September 3- Pathankot, Gurdaspur on orange alert.
Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Rupnagar, Mohali and Fatehgarh Sahib on yellow alert on September 3.
September 4- No Alert

12 districts of Punjab are in the grip of floods. These include Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Moga, Pathankot, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Patiala, Mohali, Kapurthala, Jalandhar and Ludhiana. An alert has also been issued for Jalandhar. The water level of Bhakra has remained just 3 feet below the danger mark.
On Monday night, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann over the phone and assured all possible help from the Center. At the same time, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said that in view of such a huge devastation, the government should work in mission mode, so that farmers, laborers, livestock farmers and common people can get immediate help.
CM Bhagwant Mann will hold a high-level meeting through video conferencing today. Decisions will be taken regarding flood management in this. Along with this, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh has donated his entire year's salary.
