Punjab Flood Relief: Diljit Dosanjh’s Saanjh Foundation Begins Repair Work in Gurdaspur

NGOs launch rehabilitation of 10 villages, start Dhussi embankment repairs at Thatthi Faridpur with SDM’s support

Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s Saanjh Foundation, in collaboration with the Global Sikh Organization, has stepped forward to aid Punjab’s flood-hit areas by launching repair work on the damaged Dhussi embankments of the Ravi river in Gurdaspur. The initiative also covers the rehabilitation of 10 affected villages. The work formally began with an Ardas ceremony at the breached embankment in Thatthi Faridpur, Dinanagar.

The announcement was made by Sonali Singh (Saanjh Foundation) and Amarpreet Singh (Global Sikh Organization) in the presence of SDM Jaspinder Singh, who assured full technical support from the administration. Both NGOs pledged to extend their efforts wherever embankments and roads have been damaged across Punjab.

According to officials, Dhussi embankments have been breached at 14 locations in Dinanagar. Repair work has already started at Makora Pattan, with the administration closely monitoring the progress. SDM Jaspinder Singh also visited the flood-hit Ramdas area to assess damage, noting that a complete evaluation will only be possible once the water recedes.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonali Singh said, “Punjab stands with Diljit Dosanjh, and Diljit stands firmly with Punjab.” Meanwhile, Amarpreet Singh emphasized that both organizations will work hand in hand to complete this noble mission of rebuilding flood-ravaged communities.
