Industry and Power Minister Sanjeev Arora said that the Punjab Government is creating a favorable environment for industries in the state so that maximum investment can take place in Punjab.
He was attending a special event organized under ‘Rising Punjab – From Suggestions to Solutions’ today. Industrialists from Jalandhar as well as from the four districts of the Doaba region—Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar—also participated in the event.
Addressing the industrialists, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora said that the ‘Rising Punjab – From Suggestions to Solutions’ events have been started for the convenience of industrialists, and today the second such event is being held here.
He said that the suggestions given by the industrialists during the event will be resolved by the Punjab Government in a time-bound manner, and policies will be framed in line with these suggestions.
He further said that before this event, he had also held meetings with officials of the four districts, during which directions were issued to ensure timely approvals to industrialists under the Single Window System so that no entrepreneur faces any kind of problem.
He said that officials of the Industry Department have also been instructed to reach out to industrialists to inform them about various schemes being run by the Punjab Government for the welfare of industries, so that they can avail maximum benefits from these schemes.
Mr. Arora said that the objective of these events is not only to spread awareness about new industry-friendly policies but also to create a conducive atmosphere for new investments and to build direct dialogue between the government and the industrial sector, so that new avenues for Punjab’s prosperity can open.
Referring to five different notifications issued by Punjab State Industry and Export Corporation, he said that no other state government has launched such schemes, but these have been implemented only under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann. He added that Punjab’s industry-friendly policies are also being welcomed by the business world.
The Cabinet Minister described industrialists as the brand ambassadors of Punjab and said that solving the problems of industries is the government’s top priority.
