In a major administrative reshuffle, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday transferred eight IAS officers with immediate effect. The Department of Personnel issued the transfer orders, directing all officers concerned to assume charge at their new postings without delay.
Among the key changes, Neelima (IAS 2008) has been transferred from the Home Affairs Department and posted as Secretary, Personnel. She has also been given the additional charge of Secretary, Vigilance.
Sakshi Sawhney (IAS 2014) will continue as Special Secretary, Health & Family Welfare and Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), Punjab. She has also been assigned the additional charge of Nodal Officer, Anti-Drug Campaign, relieving Shanyam Aggarwal of the additional charge.
A significant change has been made in Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, where Sandeep Rishi (IAS 2015) has been shifted. His services have been placed at the disposal of the Department of Housing & Urban Development for posting as Chief Administrator, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA), SAS Nagar.
Replacing him, Nikas Kumar (IAS 2020), who was serving as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Hoshiarpur, has been appointed as Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar.
Meanwhile, Parminder Pal Singh (IAS 2016) has been posted as Special Secretary, Home Affairs.
Neeru Katyal Gupta (IAS 2016) has been transferred to the Department of Housing & Urban Development for appointment as Chief Administrator, Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA). She has also been given the additional charge of Director, Town & Country Planning.
Among the 2023-batch officers, Sonam (IAS 2023) has been posted as Additional Commissioner, Taxation-I, Patiala, while continuing to hold the additional charge of Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Patiala.
Rakesh Kumar Meena (IAS 2023) has been transferred from the post of Joint Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Bathinda, and appointed as Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development), Hoshiarpur.
The Punjab government has directed all the transferred officers to join their new assignments immediately. Departments concerned have also been instructed to make internal arrangements for the posts that have fallen vacant following the reshuffle.
