In a shocking development, Aam Aadmi Party's MLA from Punjab's Ghanaur constituency, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra has escaped from Police custody. MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra was arrested from Karnal, Haryana on rape charges.
As per information received, Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra fired at the Police escaping from the custody.
While being taken to the local police station after arrest, Pathanmajra and his associates opened fire on the police. One policeman injured in the incident.
MLA escaped by running his car over a policeman. Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra and his associates fled in a Scorpio and a Fortuner.
As of now, Police have caught the Fortuner car. However, MLA is absconding in a Scorpio as a result, the police team is chasing him.
Punjab Police had registered an FIR against Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra under section 376 (rape) of IPC in an old case related to my ex-wife.
Pathanmajra was accused by his second wife Gurpreet Kaur in 2022 of hiding his first marriage and assault. Apart from this, he was also in the headlines after an alleged adult video went viral.
