Punjab records warmer than usual weather; mercury likely to rise 3-4°C in coming days

As per the data, the state’s maximum temperature is approximately 3.6 degrees Celsius above normal

Punjab is witnessing a noticeable change in the weather patterns for the past few days. A considerable change in the mercury levels has been observed. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh, the weather in the state has been persistently dry, however dense fog has also been reported in some isolated places in the state.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh, the maximum temperature recorded in the state in the past 24 hours was in Bathinda, Faridkot and Gurdaspur at 27.0°C.

State warmer than usual

As per the reports published by the IMD, Chandigarh, the weather has been observed as warmer than usual. As per the data, the state’s maximum temperature is approximately 3.6 degrees Celsius above normal and the highest temperature was recorded in Faridkot at 31 degrees Celsius, the highest so far this season.

Although, a mild chill has been felt in the morning and evening, but the bright sunshine in the afternoon has made the weather hot in many areas.

Weather forecast for next few days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), Chandigarh, predicts that the weather in the state will remain dry in the state and no prediction has been made of rain in the coming few days. However, the department forecasts moderate fog at isolated places in the state.

As per the data, no major changes in minimum temperatures is expected in the coming five days, however a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 3-4°C is likely in the next seven days throughout the state.
