Punjab Weather Update: Temperatures Continue to Drop Across the State

Meteorological Department predicts further 2°C drop in temperatures; dry weather to persist across Punjab till November 20

Punjab is witnessing a steady drop in temperatures, and according to the Meteorological Department, the decline is expected to continue over the coming days. Next week, temperatures could fall by another 2°C. While daytime temperatures will remain near normal, night temperatures are likely to stay below average. There is no forecast of rain for now, and the weather will remain dry.

The department reports that the minimum temperature is currently 1.6°C below normal. On Tuesday morning, it dropped another 0.1°C. Faridkot recorded the state’s lowest temperature at 7.1°C, followed by Amritsar at 9.1°C, Ludhiana at 9.8°C, Bathinda at 8°C, and Gurdaspur at 9°C

By Wednesday evening, the state’s average maximum temperature also fell by 0.2°C. All major cities in Punjab are now recording daytime highs below 30°C, and temperatures could dip another 2°C in the coming days.

Between November 14 and November 20, 2025, the maximum temperature in northern and northeastern districts such as Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and Amritsar is expected to stay between 24°C and 26°C, while the rest of the state will see highs ranging between 26°C and 28°C.

During the night, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and parts of Amritsar may experience minimum temperatures between 6°C and 8°C, and other regions between 8°C and 10°C.

Overall, the minimum temperature is likely to remain slightly below or around normal levels, meaning residents will feel a noticeable chill during early mornings and nights this week.
