The Punjab government has withdrawn its decision to charge ₹80 for downloading FIRs from the police website, cancelling the earlier notification and issuing fresh orders to make the service free of cost.
According to official directives, citizens will no longer be required to pay any fee to download FIR copies through the Sanjh Portal.
As per the official notification issued by the Department of Good Governance and Information Technology Punjab on March 25, 2026, it has been ordered that no charges shall be levied for downloading FIRs from the Sanjh Portal or for obtaining copies from Sanjh Kendras. The notification further states that the earlier instructions regarding the levy of ₹80 as a service charge for this facility stand withdrawn with immediate effect.
The order also states that applicants will not be charged for obtaining FIR copies from Sanjh Kendras. The ₹80 service fee previously imposed has been withdrawn with immediate effect.
