“Raja Warring is compromised”: Ravneet Bittu targets Punjab Congress amid infighting

Citing Bhupesh Baghel’s post on Rahul Gandhi, Bittu claims Congress high command decisions lack respect and Warring’s position is untenable

Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu launched a fresh attack on Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and claimed that Warring has lost the support of his own party leaders and alleged that several Congress MLAs no longer want to contest elections under his leadership.

Raja Warring is “compromised”

Addressing the media, Bittu described Warring as a "compromised" and "humiliated" Congress chief. Bittu claimed that Congress leaders are openly questioning Warring's leadership and according to him, many Congress leaders are calling Warring "compromised" and are demanding that he be removed from the post of Punjab Congress president.

Infighting within Congress

He also alleged that several Congress MLAs have said they do not want to fight future elections under Warring's leadership, Bittu said that if party leaders have no confidence in their own state president, it reflects the level of internal conflict within the Congress.

Decodes Baghel’s statement

Continuing his criticism, Bittu said a party president should have the confidence and support of the organisation, he claimed that no one in the Congress is accepting Warring's leadership and that the party's internal disputes will never end if the situation continues, Bittu also referred to a recent social media post by senior Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel, who had said that Rahul Gandhi is the face of the Congress party.

Questions working of Congress

Responding to the statement, Bittu said it was an internal matter of the Congress and that his party had nothing to say about who the Congress chooses as its face however, he claimed that even within the Congress, party leaders do not accept their own president's authority, he further alleged that the Congress high command's decisions are not respected by many leaders and claimed that Rahul Gandhi is not taken seriously by people within the party. Bittu also said that Baghel's statement did not receive importance from Congress leaders.

Members don’t support their leaders

The Union Minister repeated his allegation that Congress leaders themselves are calling Warring "compromised" and claimed that many leaders are refusing to support him and said the Congress is facing serious internal infighting and that the disagreements within the party are becoming increasingly visible.

Bittu backs Sunil Jakhar

Bittu also backed Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar. He said the Congress did not value Jakhar when he was in the party and claimed that the party failed to recognise his contribution at the right time.
