Sanjay Singh alleges ‘Operation Lotus’ in Punjab, targets BJP

AAP leader accuses Modi-Shah of using ED-CBI and poaching MPs to destabilize Bhagwant Mann government in Punjab

Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh has launched a sharp attack on the BJP, alleging that an “Operation Lotus” is underway in Punjab to destabilize the state government led by Bhagwant Mann.

Addressing a press conference shortly after Raghav Chadha, Singh said he was “deeply hurt” and accused the central leadership of indulging in “dirty politics” by targeting AAP leaders and attempting to break the party.

He alleged that central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation are being misused to pressure leaders. Singh cited a recent ED raid on a leader named Ashok, claiming that such actions are part of a larger strategy to coerce defections.

Taking direct aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, Singh said, “This betrayal and deception against the people of Punjab will not be forgiven.”

He further alleged that several MPs are being targeted and lured away. Referring to specific leaders, Singh questioned their loyalty, saying the party and Punjab’s people had given them significant opportunities, including Rajya Sabha seats, but they had now “moved into BJP’s fold.”

Calling the alleged operation a “large-scale political conspiracy,” Singh said the BJP is attempting to weaken a government that is delivering welfare schemes, particularly for Dalits, tribals, and women.

“The AAP government in Punjab is doing excellent work by directly transferring financial assistance to beneficiaries. But Modi and Shah are trying to stop and break this government,” he said.

Singh’s remarks come amid intensifying political tensions in Punjab, with AAP leaders repeatedly accusing the BJP of orchestrating efforts to topple elected governments through what they describe as “Operation Lotus.”
