The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has directed Punjab Police to submit an Action Taken Report on July 1, 2026 in connection with the case involving Member of Parliament Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.
Sharing details in this regard, Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi said that the Commission had taken suo motu notice of the use of casteist remarks against Dalit communities by Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring during election campaigning.
He informed that during the hearing held today, the SP Headquarters, Sri Muktsar Sahib appeared before the Commission on behalf of the Senior Superintendent of Police and informed that the process of examining the audio clip related to the matter had already been initiated. Punjab Police has also sought information from Meta in this connection and the report is expected within 30 days.
He further informed that the Commission has directed the authorities to submit the Action Taken Report along with Meta’s report on July 1, 2026.
