Punjabi singer Veer Davinder recently got targeted by some unidentified assailants in Canada. Apparently, some unknown attackers had earlier demanded a ransom of $500,000, that mounts upto Rs 4 crore approximately prior to the incident where his house was targeted by gunshots. Allegedly, the singer had been receiving ransom calls from someone named Anda Batala who was threatening to kill him if he fails to make the payment.

Exactly nineteen days later to this alleged call, the assailants targeted his house and fired seven shots at his house. As per the information, three out of the seven bullets penetrated the glass wall and reached the bedroom of the singer's house. Fortunately, the singer and his family were not at home during the time of the incident. The whole fiasco unfolded in the Redstone Common area of Calgary that houses a large portion of the Punjab origin population.

The police have urged the residents to not be intimidated by the threats and maintain calm. The Calgary Police has expressed concern over the raising crime and appealed to the public to not fall prey to such threats and not be afraid of them. The police further inform that if anyone receives such threat calls, they must immediately inform the authorities about the same. The officials have advised the public not to pay any money to the ones demanding ransoms and making threat calls, as it only emboldens the criminal. As of now the police is currently on a hunt for ‘Anda Batala’ and his associates.
