What appeared to be an ordinary massage centre in Jalandhar's upscale Chhoti Baradari area has landed in the middle of a major police crackdown after authorities uncovered an alleged prostitution racket operating under its guise.
Acting on a tip-off, the Jalandhar Commissionerate Police raided the Royal Spa Massage Centre, located opposite Taj Market in Chhoti Baradari Part-2, and arrested four people, including the alleged operator of the establishment.
The action was carried out under the directions of Commissioner of Police Satinder Singh, IPS, and under the supervision of ADCP City-2 Rakesh Yadav, PPS, and ACP Model Town Manmohan Singh, PPS. The raid was led by Inspector Ravinder Kumar, SHO of Police Station Division No. 7.
According to the police, a reliable informer alerted the patrolling team that the spa was allegedly running a prostitution racket under the cover of massage services. The informer claimed that women were being housed inside the premises and were being used for commercial sexual exploitation.
After verifying the information, police registered FIR No. 181 dated July 31, 2026, under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act at Police Station Division No. 7 before launching the operation.
During the raid, police arrested Ashok alias Aryan, who is suspected to be managing the alleged racket, along with three women found inside the spa. Officials also recovered objectionable material from the premises, which has been seized as evidence.
The arrested accused have been identified as:
Ashok alias Aryan, originally from Rohtak and presently residing in Rohini, Delhi.
Pooja, a resident of Model Town, Panipat.
Preeti Mishra, a resident of Basti Gujja, Jalandhar.
Vandana, a resident of Ansal Sushant City, Panipat.
Police said the investigation is underway to determine whether the spa was part of a larger organised network. Authorities are also probing the involvement of other individuals, including the owners, managers, and anyone linked to the alleged illegal operation.
The raid is part of the Jalandhar Police's ongoing drive against organised crime and illegal activities operating under the cover of legitimate businesses. Officials indicated that similar establishments suspected of violating the law will remain under strict surveillance in the coming weeks.
Police have appealed to citizens to report any suspicious activities so that timely action can be taken against illegal operations.
