Following the release of the second instalment of the ‘Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’ by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Aam Aadmi Party Jalandhar Central Halka In-charge Nitin Kohli thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the Punjab Government for the initiative aimed at strengthening women financially and ensuring their welfare.
Nitin Kohli said that thousands of women in Jalandhar Central are receiving the direct benefit of the scheme, with the assistance being transferred to their bank accounts. He said the initiative reflects the Punjab Government’s focus on providing direct financial support to women and strengthening their economic position.
He said that transferring assistance directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts ensures transparency while providing women with financial support for their household needs.
₹3,000 for General Category Women, ₹4,500 for SC Women
Nitin Kohli said that under the ‘Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’, eligible women from the General Category are receiving ₹3,000 and those from the Scheduled Caste category ₹4,500, with the amounts covering three months and being disbursed together.
He said that the benefit reaching thousands of women in Jalandhar Central shows that welfare initiatives of the Punjab Government are reaching families at the local level.
Nitin Kohli’s Major Women-Centric Initiatives
Nitin Kohli said that promoting women’s participation and recognising their contribution has also remained an important focus of his public outreach in Jalandhar Central.
On International Women’s Day, the ‘Mahila Shakti – The True Strength of Society’ programme was organised, where women who had made notable contributions in different fields were recognised and honoured.
Similarly, a special Raksha Bandhan programme was organised in Jalandhar Central, where thousands of women participated and tied rakhi to Nitin Kohli. He said such programmes provide an opportunity to engage directly with women and acknowledge their contribution to society.
