Motorcycle crashes into truck in fatal collision
A tragic road accident in the Goraya area of Jalandhar district claimed the lives of three people after their motorcycle collided violently with a truck. The impact was so severe that the motorcycle became trapped underneath the truck, leaving all three riders critically injured.
SSF team reaches spot after emergency call
According to Sarabjit Singh, in-charge of the Road Safety Force (SSF), the team received information about the accident from a passerby. After receiving the alert, the SSF team immediately reached the spot and found the motorcycle lodged beneath the truck, with three people lying critically injured at the scene.
The team promptly informed the 108 ambulance service. However, after the ambulance reached the location, all three were declared dead.
Bodies shifted to civil hospital Phillaur
Following the accident, the SSF team informed IO ASI Bawa Singh of Goraya police station and called him to the spot. In his presence, the bodies of all three deceased were arranged to be transported in a private vehicle to Civil Hospital, Phillaur, for further proceedings.
Truck removed to restore traffic
The SSF team also assisted the duty officer in removing the motorcycle from underneath the truck and sent it to Goraya police station. With the help of a Hydra crane, the truck was subsequently moved to the side of the overbridge to clear the road and restore smooth traffic movement.
Police probe underway
Police have initiated an investigation into the accident and are examining the circumstances that led to the fatal collision. Further details regarding the identities of the deceased and the exact cause of the crash are awaited.
