In a major breakthrough, Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has arrested two operatives of banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) for writing Pro-Khalistan graffiti on the wall of Red Cross Bhawan here, said Commissioner of Police (CP) Jalandhar Satinder Singh IPS here on Thursday.
Those arrested have been identified as Sukhpreet Singh and Rajdeep Singh, both residents of village Nihaluwal in Jalandhar Rural. Both the arrested accused have a criminal history with cases pertaining to Arms Act, NDPS Act, etc, have been registered against them.
The police teams have also recovered a Hero Splendor motorcycle used by the duo during the commission of the crime.
As per the information, Pro-Khalistani slogans were found written on the outer wall of the of Red Cross Bhawan here on September 29, 2026. Later, mastermind of banned outfit Gurpatwant Singh Pannun also made a video viral on social media platforms.
CP Satinder Singh Ji said that acting swiftly, police teams have registered a first information report (FIR) and investigation was started under the supervision of DCP City Aditya Warrier, IPS and DCP Investigation Manpreet Singh Dhillon PPS . Police teams successfully zeroed in both the suspects and arrested them, he said.
The Police Commissioner Jalandhar said that during investigation, the arrested accused persons disclosed that on the intervening night of September 14 and 15, 2026, they had also vandalised the statue of Bharat Ratna Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar Ji in village Barian Kalan near Chabbewal in Hoshiarpur. In that regard, FIR No. 130 dated 15.09.2026 under section 298 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was already registered at Police Station Chabbewal.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 301 dated 29.09.2026 under sections 147, 152, 196, 61(2) of the BNS and 66F of the IT Act has already been registered at Police Division No 6 in Jalandhar. Both accused will be produced before a local court to seek police remand to uncover backward and forward linkages and identify other associates involved in the conspiracy.
