The death of Varinder Singh Ghuman has shocked entire bodybuilding as well as Punjab. Bodybuilder Varinder Singh Ghuman on Thursday night died due to cardiac arrest. Ghuman reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest while undergoing treatment for a shoulder injury at Fortis Hospital in Amritsar.
Following Varinder Singh Ghuman's death, a ruckus broke out between doctors present at the hospital and friends, relatives of Varinder Singh Ghuman. Varinder Singh Ghuman's relatives demanded the video of Operation Theater as they sense negligence of the hospital due to which the bodybuilder died after a minor shoulder surgery.
Anil Gill who introduced himself as Varinder Singh Ghuman's friend claimed, "It was just a minor shoulder surgery. Two people went along with him, I wasn’t there. After the procedure, the doctor called to say he was becoming critical. How can an international-level bodybuilder, who maintained his health so meticulously, die after a simple shoulder surgery? His body turned blue, it’s clearly the hospital’s fault. There was likely some overdose from their side."
As per reports, when friends requested CCTV footage, the hospital informed them that there was no camera in the operating theater; only footage from outside was available, which did not show Ghuman's bed.
Seeing the situation worsening, the administration took the friends to the CCTV room and briefed them. As per reports, Amritsar Fortis stated that a medical bulletin would be issued soon and that it was premature to comment.
Varinder Singh Ghuman was exercising at his gym in Model House, Jalandhar. Suddenly, a nerve in his shoulder was compressed. His condition worsened and he was admitted to the hospital. However, doctors referred him to Amritsar, where he died during treatment.
