Distribution was originally planned for last month
The much-talked-about iPhone Langar has received a fresh update from Raja D King, who has clarified the reason behind the delay and announced a new timeline for the distribution. According to Raja D King, the iPhone Langar was supposed to be held last month, but the process could not begin as planned due to an issue with the organisers’ WhatsApp account.
WhatsApp suspension caused delay
Raja D King said their WhatsApp account had been suspended and was not working, because of which the organisers were unable to access the credentials and details of the people who were expected to receive the iPhones.
He further said that the team is expected to get paid WhatsApp on Tuesday, after which they will be able to restart the communication and verification process. The WhatsApp issue, according to his clarification, was one of the major reasons behind the delay in the much-discussed iPhone distribution.
Applicants asked to follow specific process
Raja D King also clarified the process that girls need to follow if they want to be considered for the iPhone Langar. He said applicants have to write “Jai Mata Di” three times, along with their name and city name.
He stressed that the required details should be sent correctly and that the eligibility and verification process would be followed before the iPhones are distributed.
“Even I didn’t know so many calls would come”
Addressing the huge response to the announcement, Raja D King said that even he was not aware that the initiative would lead to such a large number of calls and messages.
He urged people not to react based on incomplete information and requested them to listen to his complete clarification before contacting the organisers or asking about the distribution.
He said lakhs of messages came in just 3 days, whoever got the news about this langar would just message.
Only eligible girls can message
Raja D King further clarified that only girls who meet the stated eligibility criteria should message regarding the iPhone Langar. He also mentioned an age-related eligibility condition while explaining who can contact the organisers. Only girls above 18 years and above can message for the langar. While males are not eligible for getting the iPhone
iPhone distribution to start from September 21
According to Raja D King, the iPhone distribution is now expected to begin from September 21. The process is likely to move forward once the WhatsApp communication issue is resolved and the necessary credentials and details of applicants are collected.
