An uproar has been reported on 30 June, 2026 in Jalandhar. The case involves a 49 year old woman who was declared dead, but even after several hours, the family members were not allowed to meet the dead. The family alleged that the doctors might have taken out important organs of the mother’s body. This case has come from a renowned hospital in Jalandhar.
Cause of the incident
The incident took place, when the hospital staff turned their back on the family. The family wasn’t allowed to meet their family member admitted in the hospital. With above 2 hours of banging the doors of the hospital, no response was given. The family tried to make videos of the happenings, when the phones of the family members were tried to snatch. The bouncers present inside the premises, forcefully took out the members and stopped the close ones from meeting their mother.
Even after several tries of the police, the gates of the hospital did not open and the family members were left begging the doctors to help them out.
Identification of the victim
The victim is identified as Gogi, a 49 year old woman diagnosed with brain tuberculosis. She had her treatment going on from last 1.5 year but was severely ill from last few days. She was shifted to the emergency ward in the last few days. The family is said to be the residents of Jalandhar itself. She was declared dead in the morning of 30 June 2026 i.e. Tuesday but her body wasn’t returned to the family.
Alleges by the family
After having a look at the entire situation, the family alleged that the doctors could have taken out several organs of the dead body as reason of not letting them meet the patient and not returning the body. The family also mentioned that they had pays Lakhs to the doctors and still the officials demanded more. They also added that all the dues were paid by the family and all the bills were cleared
Arrival of the police
Even upon arrival of the police, the hospital authorities did not answer and left the doors closed. In some videos, the nurses of the hospital were seen running out of the hospital from back door. This gave rise to many questions in the mind of the family. The family allege that even the police was of no help and could make the doors open. Talking to the police, it was told that they were trying their best to help the family out and were trying to contact the doctor for further success in the case.
Closure of the case
The reporters interacted with Anu Palyal, A police official. She said that all the issues between the doctors and the family has been resolved and the family is satisfied. It was also informed that the reason of not letting the family meet with the patient could be because of the restricted entry in the ICU because of infections. The body of the dead will be handed over to the family after necessary examinations by the doctor.
