Wheels from moving PRTC bus comes out near Chogitti Flyover in Jalandhar, mishap averted

No other vehicle was hit and no injury was reported. Still, due to decline in visibility and the bus being stranded, it impacted the traffic.

In a concerning development, wheels of a moving PRTC bus came out near Akshardham Temple on the Amritsar-PAP Highway on late Monday night. To be precise, the incident took place near Chogitti Flyover in Jalandhar. Fortunately, the bus was not carrying any passengers.

No other vehicle was hit and no injury was reported. Still, due to decline in visibility and the bus being stranded on the road after the mishap, it started impacting the traffic.

Upon receiving information about the accident, a road safety force team arrived at the scene and cleared one side of the highway to restore traffic flow.

The bus driver, Jasvir Singh, said that he was returning from Gurdaspur when, near Akshardham Temple, the bus's suspension failed, causing both rear tires to come off. As a result, the bus went out of control, veered onto the sidewalk, and ended up between the two lanes.

The driver said that only he and the conductor were in the bus, and they were unharmed in the accident.

After reaching the spot, the road safety team cleared the way for a VIP convoy. An ambulance was also stuck in traffic jam.

Finally, a carne was called to the spot and accidental bus was cleared from the highway. However, traffic is still struggling at the spot.
