When will it rain in Punjab? IMD forecasts active monsoon from July 18

Punjab is expected to see the next active spell of monsoon from around July 18 onward, with rainfall becoming widespread and heavy in many areas on July 19–20.

Punjab currently is not facing an active monsoon but in the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain occured at many places in the state while thunderstorms, lightening accompanied with gusty winds occurred at many isolated places. The highest maximum temperature in the state was 36.1°C recorded at Bathinda AP and the lowest minimum temperature in the state was 22.8°C recorded at Ludhiana.

According to IMD Chandigarh, light to moderate rainfall likely at isolated places from 13th to 18th and at isolated places thereafter in the state.

 IMD forecasts light to moderate rainfall at few places over Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar and Rupnagar and also at isolated places over Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala and SAS Nagar (Mohali) on 14 July i.e. Tuesday.   

For dates 15 and 16, weather predictions are similar and record light to moderate rainfall at few places over Pathankot along with light to moderate rainfall is likely at isolated places over, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur Nawanshahr, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar (Mohali)

Light to moderate rainfall is likely at few places over Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar (Mohali) on 17 July while on the same day light to moderate rainfall is likely at isolated places over Gurdaspur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala

 The outlook for the next 2 days after 17th according to IMD forecast light to moderate rain at isolated places on day 6 and at few places on day 7

According to the latest India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, Punjab is expected to see the next active spell of the southwest monsoon from around July 18 onward, with rainfall becoming widespread and heavy in many areas on July 19–20.

While Punjab is likely to witness only scattered light to moderate rainfall over the next few days, residents may have to wait until the weekend for a significant change in weather conditions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), monsoon activity is expected to intensify from July 18, with widespread rainfall and thunderstorms likely across the state on July 19 and 20. The active spell is expected to bring much-needed relief from the prevailing hot and humid weather, although residents in low-lying areas should remain alert for the possibility of waterlogging and localized flooding if heavy showers occur. The IMD has advised people to keep track of the latest weather updates, especially those planning travel or outdoor activities over the weekend.
