Punjab is expected to receive another spell of rain over the coming days, with light to moderate rainfall forecast at several places across the state from September 13 to 15 and the weather department has forecast rainfall at many places on September 16 and 17, while isolated areas may continue to receive rain thereafter.
Thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are also likely at isolated places between September 13 and 17. Heavy rain has been forecast at isolated places during the same period.
On September 14, heavy rain along with thunderstorms and lightning is likely at isolated places in Pathankot and Gurdaspur. Hoshiarpur may also experience thunderstorms and lightning.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected at several places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar (Mohali), isolated rainfall is also forecast in Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala.
The weather system is expected to remain active on September 15. Heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely at isolated places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur. Thunderstorms and lightning may also occur in Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Rupnagar and Mohali.
Several northern districts, including Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur and Nawanshahr, are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall at several places on September 15 and other districts, including Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Moga, Ferozepur, Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib and Patiala, may receive rain at isolated places.
The most widespread rainfall is forecast for September 16. Light to moderate rain is likely at many places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Rupnagar, Patiala and Mohali.
Heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning is also likely at isolated places across several of these districts. Thunderstorms and lightning may additionally occur in Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Fatehgarh Sahib and Mohali.
Similar conditions are expected on September 17, with light to moderate rainfall likely at many places in northern and central parts of Punjab. Heavy rain is forecast at isolated places in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur and Rupnagar.
