Punjab Industries Minister Sanjeev Arora came under fresh scrutiny after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out raids at locations linked to him on Friday morning and according to available information Arora was not present in India at the time of the raids as he was travelling to Europe as part of the Punjab government’s “Invest Punjab” program which aims to attract foreign investment.
ED teams began searches around 6:30 am at multiple locations including his residence official premises and places linked to his business associates and these raids were conducted in cities like Delhi, Ludhiana and Chandigarh.
Arora said he had no prior information about the action and stated that ED teams were present at all his premises and workplaces and said he would fully cooperate with the investigation and expressed confidence that the truth would come out.
So far the ED has not issued any official statement explaining the reason for the raids or the allegations and the investigation is ongoing and further details are awaited.
