Will there be a bank holiday in Punjab for Chhath Puja

Chhath Puja is a significant Hindu festival observed from October 25 to October 28 in 2025.

As per the holidays released by the official RBI website for the year 2025, no official bank holiday will be there for Chhath Puja. Consequently, on 28th October, when the most important rituals of the festival take place, government offices, schools, and banks will remain open. Consequently, the festival is not included in the holiday observance calendar of the Punjab government nor in the central government calendar.

(Surya) and Chhathi Maiya and fast and pray for the festival, especially in Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Bihar states. In Punjab residents do celebrate Chhath Puja in small community groups.

Chhath Puja is a festival on the cultural level which people celebrate on a religious level, and thus no bank holiday in Punjab will be there for it.
