A young man identified as Simranjit Singh has been shot in the Nagoke village of the Khadoor Sahib assembly constituency in Tarn Taran. As per reports, Simranjit Singh worked as a laborer and was en route to his work. The incident reportedly took place around 9 AM when two young men riding a motorcycle approached him in the street and opened fire on him.
Following this incident, the victim was admitted to a local hospital in Khadoor Sahib, however later due to his injuries he was referred to Amritsar. A police team from the Verowal Police Station reached the spot and initiated an investigation. Simranjit’s family says that he was already not doing well health wise. Allegedly, they claim that the two men who opened fire on him were from their own village. As per the statement made by the family, one of the accused has been identified as Gagan.
Following the incident, the Tarn Taran SSP Surendra Lamba has issued a statement saying a case would be registered based on the statement of the injured. He further adds that the police are currently investigating the matter and have recovered the weapon from the scene. The police confirm that the accused have been identified and assured that they would be apprehended soon.
