In this historic strongman event, athletes had 60 seconds to flip a series of five “fingers” — completing as many as possible as quickly as possible.
From April 19 to April 23, 2023 WSM was hosted in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Stoltman, arguably the best stones thrower in the world, was still on his heels, but Hooper's second-best mark in the final event, the Atlas Stones, sealed the victory for the Canadian.
One year after making his competition debut, the Canadian strongman won his maiden WSM title.
“If people can take something from me," Hooper said, "it's that consistent effort over a very long period time can result in pretty amazing physical (feats).”
In his native Barrie, Ontario, where he runs a kinesiology clinic, Hooper stated that he wants to use exercise as medicine to avoid chronic illnesses, injuries, and other diseases.
World's Strongest Man (WSM) 2023 champion is Mitchell Hooper, a 27-year old from Canada.
