Srinagar experiences hottest June day in five years, matching Delhi: Srinagar witnessed a scorching day with a maximum temperature of 35 degrees Celsius, marking the hottest June day in half a decade and equaling the temperature recorded in Delhi.

Relief expected from sweltering heat: The Meteorological Department has predicted relief from the sweltering heat starting from Saturday, bringing respite to the residents of Srinagar and Delhi.

Previous highest June temperature: Srinagar’s previous highest temperature for the month of June was recorded on June 29, 1978, reaching 37.8 degrees Celsius.

Contrasting minimum temperatures: While the maximum temperature soared in Srinagar and Delhi, the minimum temperatures in various regions varied. Srinagar, Pahalgam, and Gulmarg recorded minimum temperatures of 22.4, 13.3, and 14.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Comparing temperatures across regions: In addition to Srinagar and Delhi, other regions experienced varying temperatures. Ladakh’s Kargil and Leh registered minimum temperatures of 15.8 and 12 degrees Celsius, respectively.
