Zero tolerance against corruption- Pathankot police booked its two employees under corruption act, arrested

Continuing with zero-tolerance policy of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav, the Pathankot police have booked two of its officials including an ASI and a senior constable for allegedly having hand in glove with illegal mining mafia transporter.

Continuing with zero-tolerance policy of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav, the Pathankot police have booked two of its officials including an ASI and a senior constable for allegedly having hand in glove with illegal mining mafia transporter.

Those arrested have been identified as ASI Salwinder Singh and senior constable Lashman Das.

Senior Superintendent of Police Harkamal Preet Singh Khakh, while divulging further details, said that Rupinder Singh JE Cum mining inspector Gurdaspur submitted complaint regarding both cops that they were performing their duties in an inebriated condition at the mining naka and facilitating safe passage to the sand and gravel loaded trucks. Upon asking about this illegal practice, duo misbehaved with him and threatened of dire consequences.

SSP said that after probing the matter at an internal level, both Salwinder and Lashman Das found to be having hand in glove with the illegal mining transporters.

Acting swiftly on the complaint of mining inspector, Assistant sub-inspector Salwinder Singh and his subordinate senior constable Lashman Das were booked under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act -1988 and 353, 186, 34 IPC registered at police station Div No. 2 in Pathankot.

Khakh unequivocally said that black sheeps in the uniform would not be tolerated and if any police officer/official found indulged in any kind of malpractices will be dealt with severely. He also added that the war against corruption would end only after this menace gets completely wiped out for which the police need proactive support of the masses.
