4912 beneficiaries in Ludhiana get natal care and gynecology treatment worth Rs. 4.51 Crore under AB- Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna: DC Ludhiana

Says, the social security scheme proving to be a game-changer in the society, exhorts people to enroll themselves in huge numbers

Ludhiana, February 27-With 4912 beneficiaries in Ludhiana got neo-natal care and gynecology treatment worth Rs. 4.51 Crore in two years, Ayushman Bharat- Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojna proving to be a game-changer in the district, said Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Varinder Kumar Sharma.

Divulging the details, the deputy commissioner said that since the inception of the scheme, a large number of people in Ludhiana coming forward to take the benefit of this pro-people scheme. He mentioned that Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh led state government has already extended the scheme’s benefit to J form holders farmers, small traders and registered journalists to make this scheme beneficial for all the key segments of the society.

Mr. Sharma further added that during the first year of this scheme as many as 199 enrolled beneficiaries have received neo-natal treatment amounting to Rs. 5471100 and 1478 beneficiaries have received obstetrics and gynecology treatment of Rs. 11361200 from the empanelled hospitals. Similarly, during the second year of the scheme 154 beneficiaries have availed the benefit of neo-natal care at the cost of Rs. 2215500 besides 3081 beneficiaries received gynecology treatment worth Rs. 26071650. He further added that the total amount spent by the government on the treatment during the two years stands at Rs. 45119450. The neo-natal care includes newborn infants in intensive care units specializing in the care of ill or premature infants where as gynecology treatment ensure treatment to expecting mothers.

The deputy commissioner called upon people to come forward and ensure maximum registration under this scheme so that they were able to get cashless health cover up to Rs. Five lakh under the scheme. 

Notably, the district administration has been organizing special camps at village level to cover maximum population under the scheme and so far a large number of families have taken the benefit of this scheme. The deputy commissioner said that health plays a vital role in ones success and this scheme aims at providing top-class treatment in renowned hospital at government’s expenses, hence all the eligible beneficiaries must join hands with others by signing in for this scheme.
