Meena Kumari’s stepson Tajdar Amrohi slammed Kangana Ranaut for making comments about the late veteran actress. Kangana had stated in an interview that Meena Kumari was a victim of Triple Talaq and had to undergo Halala. Now, in an recent interview with eminent news channel, Tajdar thrashed Kangana, and said that their family and Meena Kumari have goodwill. He further added that a “stupid girl” like Kangana cannot destroy the reputation of their family.
Tajdar further added that Meena Kumari and his father Kamal Amrohi were Shia Muslims and the process of Halala Nikaah does not take place in the Shia community.
Tajdar also stated that hearing the same thing again and again about his family and mother upsets him. He also went on to say that Kangana’s stupidity has led to discomfort and that the ‘Manikarnika‘ actress should research before making any comments. He demanded that Kangana apologise to his family so that it will clear misconceptions amongst the people.
Moreover, He called Kangana a 'stupid girl' and even went on to claim that the actress hasn't completed her education. He was quoted saying, "Our family and Meena Kumari have goodwill and a stupid girl stupid girl like Kangana cannot smear the reputation of our family. Kangana took the name of my mother during a conversation on a TV channel and said that she performed halala. She has no idea that Meena Kumari and my abbu Kamal Amrohi both were Shia Muslims and halala never happens in Shia Muslims."
He then went on to add that such negative stories around his family do upset him. "The trauma that Kangana has inflicted upon my family after pointing fingers at relationship of my mother and father is highly disappointing. At least one should find the truth before making any negative statement about someone's family. Kangana should not speak untruths and apologise to our family. This will clear the misconception which people have," he said.
Kangana Ranaut is ruling the headlines these days for making explosive statements. From her fight with the Maharashtra Government to calling Urmila Matondkar 'a soft porn' star', Kangana is calling for a lot of attention. In one of her interviews, Kangana Ranaut also commented on yesteryear actress Late Meena Kumari and spoke about her relationship with Amal Amrohi while talking about triple talaq. However, that did not go down well with Taajdar Amrohi, the step-son of Meena Kumari.
Taajdar Amrohi also claimed that he is not taking any legal action against the Manikarnika actress as she is 'illiterate."
Tajdar angrily questioned Kangana’s education. He said, “Kangana says that she left home at the age of 15, that means she did not complete her studies. She is illiterate, not educated, so I am not taking any legal action against her. Otherwise, I would claim defamation against her. She keeps on coming in the news playing the Woman card."
For the record, Meena Kumari married director and script writer Kamal Amrohi in 1952. At that time Kamal was already married and father of three children. At the time of marriage, Meena was 19 and Amrohi was 34 years old. Meena Kumari died of liver cirrhosis on 31 March 1972. She was then 38 years old.
