Tourist Guide alleges Gang-Rape by 6 people including 1 "Woman" in Delhi's Five-Star Hotel near "India Gate"

A tourist guide has lodged a complaint of being gang-caught at a five-star hotel near the India Gate in central Delhi, a high-security zone just 2 km from Connaught Place market, police said on Sunday. The survivor named six people, including a woman, after which the main defendant was arrested, they added.

The incident took place on September 18 and the survivor made the distress call the next day, police said. The hotel room where the crime took place had been booked by two businessmen, they added.

The survivor, who also works as a ticket booking manager, was in dire need of the money and the accused called her at the hotel on the pretext of giving her a low-rate loan, police said.

“On the victim’s complaint, a case is registered at 376D, 323, 34 IPC PS Connaught Place against 06 alleged persons including a woman,” Deputy Commissioner of Police in New Delhi, Eish Singhal, told eminent news channel.

“The victim was seduced by the hotel room under the pretext of providing a loan at rates subsidized by the alleged persons. The victim was working as a tour guide and ticket booking agent and was in dire need of the money. The room had been booked under the names of two businessmen, ”he added.

A man named Manoj Sharma, a resident of Delhi’s Sheikh Sarai area, has been arrested in connection with the case.

Further investigation and research of other defendants is underway.
