"Horrible attack", says Trump on Pulwama Terror Attack asking Pakistan for 'full cooperation'

On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump commented on the Pulwama terror attack by describing it as a “horrible attack”. In the Pulwama terrorist attack the responsibility of which is being claimed by the Jaish-e-Mohammed group, 40 Indian paramilitary personnel were killed. Trump said that he was getting reports on it and would issue a statement.

State Department Deputy Spokesperson Robert Palladino also expressed “strong support” for India and has separately asked Pakistan to “punish anyone responsible” for the February 14 attack. The suicide attack has led to escalation of tension between India and Pakistan.

“I have watched. I have got a lot of reports on it. We will have comment (on it) at an appropriate time. It would be wonderful if they (India and Pakistan) get along”, said Trump in response to a question regarding the attack.That (the terrorist attack) was a horrible situation. We are getting reports. We will have a statement to put out”, Trump said.

“We urge Pakistan to fully cooperate with the investigation into the attack and to punish anyone responsible”, said the State Department Deputy Spokesperson Robert Palladino. Following the terrorist attack, Trump National Security Advisor John Bolton, has also supported India right to self-defence.
