Amritsar Congress Lok Sabha MP, Gurjit Singh Aujla reviewed the development work of the city in the District Development Coordination and Evaluation Committee meeting. In the meeting, he raised the issues faced by the pilgrims while their visit to the city. He said that there should be large size boards installed on the roads showing the important places of the city so that the pilgrims coming here do not have to face any kind of difficulty in finding their way.
Aujla urged the Municipal Corporation officials to ensure cleanliness in the city. He said that lakhs of pilgrims visit the city every day and their convenience should be kept in the mind. He also reviewed the ongoing development works in the city and discussed about the poor conditions of the roads. He said that the development works under construction will be checked and legal action will be taken against anyone found guilty.
Along with Gurjit Singh Aujla, Lok Sabha member Jasbir Singh Dimpa, who is also the vice chairman of the committee, was also present. He instructed the contractors to complete the ongoing works on the National Highway on time. He said that most of the works being carried out in the city have been given to a single contractor, due to which there is a delay in the work and the quality of the work is also affected, which should be investigated.

He appealed to the officials to work day and night to improve the appearance of Guru Nagri Amritsar. He also asked for an investigation into the work being done by the corporation in the Greenland area. He said that a committee of engineers from different departments will be formed for a permanent solution to the sewage coming between the roads of the city, which often works to dig or break the road.
